About TyreCost.com
An independent reference for the cost of tyres in the UK: per-tyre price by class (premium / mid / budget), fitting and balancing charges, the four-tyre full-set economics, and the major retailers compared. Operated by Digital Signet, founded by Oliver Wakefield-Smith.
The reason this site exists
Tyre pricing in the UK is fragmented across national chains, online + mobile-fit retailers and independent garages, with the same Michelin or Continental tyre showing different installed-prices across each channel. Most top-ranking pages are written by the retailers themselves angling for the booking, or by aggregators angling for the per-lead resale fee. This site exists to publish defensible installed-cost bands by class and brand with the retailer comparison shown side-by-side.

About Digital Signet, the operator
This site is operated by Digital Signet, an independent AI-development studio founded by Oliver Wakefield-Smith. It is part of a portfolio of consumer cost-reference and calculator sites we run as a live R&D lab for our Signet methodology, an autonomous AI development team that ships real software at scale.
Digital Signet does not sell tyres, does not act as a tyre retailer, does not run a fitting practice, and does not accept paid placements from Kwik Fit, ATS, Halfords, Costco or any other UK tyre retailer. Editorial direction is set by Oliver. Drafts are produced via Digital Signet's autonomous AI development methodology and reviewed against the editorial framework before publication.

Editorial principles and disclosures
- Source pattern. Built on public reference material across the relevant publisher landscape.
- No paid placements. Does not sell tyres, does not act as a tyre retailer, does not run a fitting practice, and does not accept paid placements from Kwik Fit, ATS, Halfords, Costco or any other UK tyre retailer. Independent of every named third party in the relevant space.
- Math is documented inline. Where the site has a calculator, inputs and assumptions are visible on the calculator page. Nothing is hidden behind opaque scoring.
- Update only when underlying reality changes. Triggers: Material movement (10%+) in published per-class tyre prices over a 12-month sample; Major retailer announces a tyre-pricing or fitting-fee change; Manufacturer announces a tyre-line repricing; Material change in commodity rubber / oil pricing affecting retail price.
