Every new tyre fitted at National carries an unlimited-mileage guarantee against manufacturing defects for the legal life of the tyre, at no extra cost. This is a defect guarantee: it covers a tyre that fails because of a fault in the tyre itself. Standard consumer cancellation rights also apply to online orders, so you can cancel before your fitting date or within 14 days of delivery (30 days if the goods are faulty), with the tyres returned to the original fitting centre.

For cover beyond defects, National sells an optional Extended Tyre Warranty. It costs £10.99 per tyre on standard brands and £14.99 per tyre on premium brands (Michelin, Continental, Goodyear, Bridgestone, Pirelli, Dunlop), and it adds puncture repair plus a pro-rata discount toward a replacement if a tyre is damaged beyond repair, scaled by how much tread is left (from a full replacement near new down to a small discount close to the 1.6mm limit). It is redeemable at fixed Halfords-group garages, not on mobile fittings, and requires at least 1.6mm of tread to remain valid.

The Price Promise is the chain's named price-match. National will match an identical branded tyre sold cheaper by a UK-registered retailer within 10 miles of your centre, comparing the total fitted price including any delivery and fitting charges. You need proof (a receipt, link, dated screenshot or written quote) and must claim within 7 days; if you find it cheaper after buying, National refunds the difference within 14 days. Membership, trade, fleet and business deals, buy-one-get-one offers, clearance and market-stall sellers are excluded, so a warehouse-club price such as Costco's is not matchable.

Discounts come as brand-specific promotions rather than a fixed calendar. Set discounts on four tyres of a given brand (premium ranges and value brands such as Avon, Sailun and Rovelo have run at 15 to 20 percent off a set), plus voucher codes accepted at checkout, are the usual mechanism. Because the offers rotate through the year, check the current promotion on national.co.uk before booking rather than assuming a set amount; none of the standard promos are deep enough to beat Costco on premium brands, but they routinely close the gap to Kwik Fit on mid-range sets.

The chain's ownership matters for context. National Tyres and Autocare is owned by Halfords plc, the same parent that owns Halfords Autocentre, and sits inside a network of over 600 Halfords-group garages. National and Halfords Autocentre trade as separate brands with separate networks (over 200 National-branded centres versus around 400 Halfords Autocentres), separate booking platforms and separate loyalty schemes. The shared parent means stock procurement is consolidated and warranty handling overlaps in the back office, but the customer-facing experience is genuinely separate: booking with National Tyres does not enrol you in the Halfords Motoring Club, and vice versa.

Mobile fitting is offered nationally but with tighter slot availability than at the bigger fixed networks. The Mobile Tyre Fitting service brings a van to your home or workplace with a call-out fee on top of the tyre price. For a single replacement tyre after a puncture, that per-visit fee is meaningful, so for one tyre the cheaper route is usually to drive to the nearest centre when the car is roadworthy; on a full set of four the fee spreads thin and mobile stays competitive with a centre visit.
